I noticed when I opened my SP I saw that there was soldered something to it. I know that the system is region free so that can't be it unless it could be a overclock mod maybe. Can I remove this?

Hi!
They either did this to upgrade the screen OR it's regarding a repair. Maybe for the IPS screen mod.
You can try to remove it and see if something changes, but it's possible that something will break (especially if this is needed for the IPS screen).
I think they either installed a custom IPS screen or a AGS-101 screen. Can you share some pictures regarding the screen as well?

Hi, I uploaded a picture of the screen it has only two levels of brightness. I want to install a IPS m2 screen I want to be sure that it won't effect the system. I've seen a lot screen mods for the SP and none of them have what I have
Two levels of brightness? Sound like a screen mod for sure.
If you want to install a IPS m2 screen, I would try to remove the old screen first, check if it's not the original one, otherwise replace it for the screen you want. Desolder the cables and do what is needed for IPS one. And then test again.
Hi, I removed thescreen and it looks like its a original one. I installed the new one and removed the thing shown on the picture the screen still works
