Smart Soldering Iron cools down immediately after reaching target temperature with no error codes

My FixHub Smart Soldering Iron (SLD101) heats up to the target temperature but immediately starts cooling down as soon as it reaches it. There are no error codes displayed on the FixHub Power Station and the error log is empty.

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

- Disabled both Idle and Sleep timers.

- Verified the physical switch is in the "On" (orange) position.

- Cleared the error log and performed a factory reset via the FixHub Web Console.

- Ensured firmware is up to date for both the iron and the power station.

- Tried multiple power sources, including the FixHub Power Station and a high-wattage USB-C PD plug.

- Reseated the soldering tip multiple times.

Despite these steps, the heater shuts off the moment it hits the set temperature. Is this a known firmware bug or a hardware failure in the main board or tip sensor?

Thanks for the detailed rundown. You've already worked through a lot here, firmware, factory reset, power sources, the switch, and the idle and sleep timers, so you've covered the usual suspects.

The one thing I don't see on your list is trying a different tip. You've reseated the same tip a few times, but since the tip carries the heater and temperature sensor, swapping in a different one is the cleanest way to figure out where the problem actually is. If a known-good tip works fine, the original tip was the issue. If the cooldown still happens with a different tip, that points away from the tip and toward the iron itself.

So the easiest next step, given everything you've already tried: do you have a spare or second tip you can test with?

If you want something to reference while you're at it, we've got a guide on checking the tip and its connection. Heads up that it's framed around a disconnect error you're not getting, so feel free to skip past that part and just use the tip-checking steps.

If you don't have another tip on hand to test with, the best next step is to reach out to our Customer Support team, so they can take a closer look and walk you through the options from there.

Give the tip swap a shot and let me know what you find.
