@zrantl sounds like you definitely shortened out some components on your motherboard. we will need to see what happened. Post some well focused images of your motherboard with your question. We need to see the area where you tried to bridge it with your tweezers and need to see your whole board so we know where to look. Also, let us know what the exact motherboard number for your laptop is. If your laptop is a 15-5593 then your motherboard could be a LA-J081P. This will most likely require some board level repair so you will need to have a soldering station as well as a multimeter and will need to know how to use both of those tools :-)

@zrantl the part you have circled is a 1.5A 24V SMD1812P150TF/24 resettable fuse made by Littelfuse. Hopefully you just set off the fuse. You can measure it with your voltmeter. Black to ground and red to first one, then the other side of the fuse. If you get power on one side and not on the other, you have a blown fuse. Here is the schematic for the Dell Inspiron 3493 3593 Compal FDI55 LA J081P FDI45 LA J091P 1 0 and here is the datasheet for the fuse SMD1812P150TF 24 Datasheet

@zrantl

Place an arrow on the picture you posted where you were trying to short out the fuse on the board?

@oldturkey03

Interesting, when I searched online for the schematics the results said LA-J092P for a 5593 with FD145, whereas the LA-J081P appears to be for FD155

Guess we'll have to wait to find out from the OP which one it is.

Cheers

Not necessarily. A brief spark on a display cable can damage the screen, cable, backlight circuit, or motherboard, but if the display still works normally afterward, you may have gotten lucky. Test the screen carefully for flickering, lines, brightness issues, or no display.
