I just installed the stereo in my 09 sonata and it is painfully dim in any kind of sunlight. I have the dimmer off and the brightness set to max, is there anything more I can do?

Double-check the illumination lead, usually an orange wire. Disconnect that illumination wire just to be sure the deck isn't in "night" mode. Also check the settings to see if there is a time-of-day dimmer function. Be sure that function is turned off too. If you can, switch the illumination color to a different color to see if it's better. Sometime one color is brighter than the others.
