A phone that gets hot and only shows a white screen is usually a sign of a hardware problem. It could be a damaged display, a loose display connector, or a board-level fault, especially if it started after a drop or repair.
If it's an iPhone and the device is still able to boot or generate logs, I'd run an iPhone panic log analysis to check for hardware-related crashes. If it's an Android device, generate a bug report and run an online bug-report (crash) analysis to help identify the underlying issue.
