HP ProBook 6460b screen flashing and graphical artifacts starting in BIOS

My HP ProBook 6460b starts up with a screen flashing dark and white, featuring a corrupted square artifact in the center of the screen. The issue persists even before entering Windows, affecting the BIOS/startup menu as well. External monitors show the same flickering and corruption. I have already tried resetting the graphics driver, but the problem remains. What could be causing this hardware issue and how can it be fixed?

Options

@vinstone that indicates that the issue is with the GPU. Essentially it is an error on your motherboard. You can try a reflow or you will have to consider replacing the processor which requires special tools and knowledge about reballing etc. This is a case where you want to consider replacing the motherboard.
