Hey i have the playstation 3 CECH-3006B. It was working fine then i disassembled it and cleaned it and reapplied thermal paste. Later after assemble it worked fine for once. Then when i started it again it shows red light and goes green for 40 seconds and turns off with 3 beeps. Doesnt show red light until i press the power button. The cycle repeats. Please help

Hi!
Motherboard issues for sure and sound like APU related.
There are multiple things to do now. But I would start with a reflow.
You need to open it up again, and do the reflow of the APU.
You can follow this guide: Lumière jaune de la mort (I know it's regarding the PS3 Phat, but it's just to give you the idea for what to do).
After this, assemble it again (with again new thermal paste) and make sure that the screws are tight (not too tight) and try again after this.
If this worked, see how long it will last, because most of the time this is a temporary fix and it could come back again. Then reballing is the way to proceed, but this is very difficult and some serious soldering skills are required (and equipment).
If it didn't worked at all, you most likely need to reball it straight away and replacing the APU may be required...
Replacing the motherboard is another option and way easier, but way more expensive.

hey. Thanks for your answer. I contacted the repair shop and they told me that it may be a psu issue. So they swapped the psu with another one but the issue remains the same. So i will try the reflow now. If it fails i cant do the reball cause its not possible. Can u give me some tips if it fails?
My pleasure! Yes, it's less likely the PSU in this case. You can do the reball afterwards if everything is still in tact. Just take all the time and do it carefully. Just follow the guide accordingly :)! If it fails after this, it could be CPU/GPU... It's most likely that.
