Miele dishwasher trips RCD/FI switch – looking for advice
Hi everyone,
I have a Miele dishwasher that keeps tripping the RCD/FI switch during a cycle.
The sequence was originally:
- Machine starts normally
- Pumps out water
- Takes in fresh water
- RCD trips when the detergent dispenser activates
- No error code
I disconnected the heating element as a test, and the dishwasher ran normally but could not heat up the water. I replaced the heating element with a new Miele part, but the problem returned.
I have also replaced the detergent dispenser and repaired a damaged wire in the door wiring area (the insulation had worn/melted and the wire could touch the metal frame). After the repair it worked for three cycles, then the fault returned. During one of those cycles the dishwasher displayed F14 error and stopped.
The strange thing is that if it sits unused for several days, it starts for a couple of minutes and then triggers RCD again right after powder dispenser opens up.
Has anyone seen this type of intermittent fault on a Miele dishwasher? Would you suspect the circulation pump, wiring harness, or another component?

It is Miele G 2272 SCVI .....I read about F14 error .... I am wondering if there is an issue with the circulation pump would it then also affect water pump out phase as well? My machine pumps the water out without tripping RCD. How can I check the circulation pump operation?

Don't know how you would check the pump in isolation
There no service manual available online (that I could find) which would help to know its operate circuit so that you could check and test the pump electrically to see if it does trip an RCD or not.
Maybe trace the harness wires that are connected to the circulation pump to make sure that they're not rubbing the chassis somewhere which causes the RCD to trip.

Miele only provides service manuals to its service centres and to affiliated appliance service repairers
