I'm really really sad that I didn't see this post until now
-You totally can replace the trackpad on the 13" MBP Unibody using part number 922-9063.
-# Remove the lower case
-# Remove the battery

+# Remove the [guide|771|access door] and [guide|754|battery]
+# Remove the [guide|756|lower case] and [guide|760|mid wall]
+# Remove the keyboard bracket by unscrewing two #00 Philips screws
# Disconnect the trackpad cable from the logic board
-# Remove the 8 #00 screws near the top of the underside of the trackpad, keeping track of which screw goes where
-# Remove the T6 height adjustment screw near the bottom of the underside of the trackpad
+# Remove the 6 triwing screws near the top of the underside of the trackpad, keeping track of which screw goes where
+# Remove the 1 triwing height adjustment screw near the bottom of the underside of the trackpad
# Swivel the trackpad out of the machine, making sure the cable clears the hole
-# Install the new metal shims, using #00 screws 2,3, 6, and 7, and route the cable through the hole
-# Screw in #00 screws 1, 4, 5, and 8, making sure there is an even gap around the trackpad (having uneven gaps results in rubbing and cracking of the glass).
