The PowerBook Medic site (http://www.powerbookmedic.com/iPod-Video-Logic-Board---Main-Board-Assembly-p-16811.html) also states that both flavors of logic boards (820-1975-A and 820-1763-A) will support an 80GB hard disk but may require a full restore on the re-assembled iPod if the logic board flavor has changed during the replacement.
