iPad does not turn on with non-OEM LCD.

Texte:

I run a repair shop fixing phones and iPads, and I ran into an interesting problem today that I've never seen before, after swapping out a scratched LCD for a new "generic" LCD that I had shipped overnight.

All the specs seemed to match, and the connectors connected fine, but when I clicked everything back together, it failed to turn on. I disconnected and reconnected all the cables, I tried to do a soft-reset, and more. After plugging it into a computer, it would not even mount or charge.

I tried swapping out every piece that looked like anything might be wrong, even trying out the original LCD in the device to no avail. I finally tried, as a last resort, a junk LCD I had in my closet that I had "trashed" as being not quite good enough to use on a customer device. Put it all together, and it started right up as soon as I plugged it in.

Apparently the original LCD and the replacement "generic" LCD were both preventing the device from booting or mounting after the repair, but my trashed OEM LCD allowed it to boot up just fine.

I can find no reason why this should have been the case, can anyone else come up with a reason that could have caused this?
