Rose Lucas, first you want to make sure that you charge your Nook's battery. Leave it on the charger for a good while. After that, I'd try a complete reset by removing the Nook's battery,  Then leave the battery out of the Nook for at least 10 seconds. After that replace the battery in the Nook.Restart it. Press and release the power button to restart it and allow it to fully boot before using it.
