if the screen is black completely ie no faint home screen, and you've tried reseating the connector (no 1) with no luck then it is either the wrong screen ( i had a new lcd for a 3g which didn't fit-check the model number is for the screen you bought) or you have broken another lcd. the worst is that you have burned out the backlight in which case you will see the faint screen but unless you can do or know someone who can do microsoldering you can't fix it.
