Why won't my laptop turn on?

Just yesterday i was using my laptop. When I went to go get something from my kitchen and came back, I found my laptop turned off. I don't know why it turned off. I wasent playing games at the moment. When I click on the power button, the lights turns on the power light, but I don't the fans or anything its just a black screen
