I know this may be late but I wanted to let you know that all factory tablets even sealed in the box have a Accu weather virus that can’t be removed from the settings page. I confirmed with AVG and Avast mobile antivirus that this app is indeed malware and was installed at the birth of the tablet. when in a attempt to remove the malware through the antivirus software it does not allow you too which couldn’t have made it any clear that it is harmful.
As you have said when it is installed on the device it shows pop up ads which is true but it also has some more harmful effects then just that. When installed it tracks your data, all downloads from google play and even can (and does) install other applications without your constent.
I even noticed apps installed that I would never download in a million years on my Digiland tablet and it was frustrating that I couldn’t find a way to remove the virus!
However I have finally found a solution and it could save ur information from being compromised and sold to advertisers like I explained before and remove the harmful app off of your device. It’s to root it.
Yes yes I know it sounds dangerous and hard and blah blah blah but, it saved my data and my device from being bricked and it allowed me to remove the harmful apps off my device and believe it or not it is quite easy. It took me about 25 minutes (with one click kingo root) and it allowed me to remove the harmful application. And the coolest part is that you can unroot right after you remove the app so you don’t have to worry about having the dangers of the rooted device.
So there you have it , rooting is the only way to remove the app and could save ur information and from your device being bricked so I highly recommend you do it ! ( there is plenty of YouTube videos on how to root a android device if you don’t know how to)
