Aftermarkets will typically have different color characteristics than the original. Inexpensive aftermarkets will never be very close. Some very expensive aftermarket parts are nearly identical to the.irigianl screen. Unfortunately only the Apple Store part, calibrated by Apple's own equipment will be 100% accurate.

As to the brightness issue, your ambient light sensor may be misaligned or the glass in front of the sensor be too transparent or too opaque. I recommend taking out the new screen assembly and comparing the old and new parts. The "hole" in front of sensor needs to match. If the glass color does not match, how you adjust the shading will be up to your own level of creativity. Adding successive layers of transperant tape to the glass may be a good start.
