I don’t see the connection of the DrMOS chips with the external Thunderbolt display connection effecting things.
 
Why would power regulation to the CPU be effected by having an external monitor connected?
 
Keep in mind the external is needed to prevent the crash not cause it! I could see the added load would have effected things by thats not the case here just the reverse.
 
Bart are you also having the same issue? If you are I’ve had a few boards which needed a new Thunderbolt chip thats the only thing I’ve seen related to having an external monitor plugged in. I’ve also seen a few blown TB chips as wellwell (early revs).
