Why is my DS lite's upper screen tinted red and why does it crash?

Texte:

I recently dug up my DS lite from my garage. I also recently found a charger and I have been playing it ever since. When I first started it up, I noticed 3 problems immediately: the touch screen is numb so it needs replaced. However, I don't know about the other two problems. One is that the upper screen’s display is ''tinted red''. Red on dark colors is most visible, so it kinda ruins the game for me at times. The other issue I don't know about is that ''my DS Lite randomly crashes''. For a little bit, it was because I moved its upper case further back or tried to shut it. Does anyone know why this happens? Much appreciated if I can find solutions. :) Here's a couple pics...
