Keyboard Illumination doesn't work

in my Dell E4310 I replaced the non-backlit keyboard with a backlit keyboard (have done that before with E6400, E6410 and E4300) but the backlight doesn't work  [br]

There is even no entry in the bios for the settings of the keyboard illumination! [br]

Does anybody know how to solve this problem? [br]
