works with battery, does not work with AC adapter, sounds a beep
Texte:
When I plug the iBook AC adapter, it sounds a very high frequency beep, then the AC adapter turns off. I have tried with another AC adapter but still same problem. No problem when the iBook is working with battery. How do I know if the problem is in the DC-in board or in the logic board? thanks == Update == I tried all your recommendations (reset PMU,PRAM, removed the memory module and another AC adapter) but no success. I suppose it is not a DC-in board problem because if I disconnect it from the logic board there´s no beep. I think the beep sound comes from the processor area, is that possible? is there some kind of speaker on the logic board??? is very strange because the iBook works well with the battery, so I assume that the processor is not dead. == Update 2 == I have replaced the DC-in board, the long beep is still there. No success. :( == Update 3 == '''-"What country are you in and what is the standard outlet power?"''' Spain (Europe), 220 Volts, 50Hz. '''-"Are you using a battery backup?"''' I use 2 batteries, one from the iBook G3 and one from an iBook G4. '''-"Describe the tone better. how long does it last? Have you ever heard the tone a battery back up power supply makes when overloaded? Does it sound like that?"''' 2 links for hear the beep: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RESISETC http://www.sendspace.com/file/jtaezg the beep sounds untill the adapter hangs. == Update 4 == Does anyone knows where can I find diagrams schematics of the motherboard of an iBook G3 800 MHz? saludos
