I just replaced a batteries in 2 - 2015 15” Retina’s. One of them is perfect and the other one the keyboard does not work now. I did not unplug the keyboard on either unit. Just the track pad ribbon cable. Also blasted the PRAM and the SMC and that did not work. USC keyboard is plugged in now and that works, but that just a temp fix

The laptop sees the USB internal keyboard when I look at the hardware system overview. I am thinking this is a software issue and not a ribbon at this point. It was perfect a few hours ago. A little puzzled.

+Come to find out there is a keyboard controller in the track pad connector. I removed the track pad ribbon at both ends and reinstalled. Works perfect.
