I've been having this same problem. I initially thought it was a bug with the game I was playing (Red Dead redemption 2) and it kept crashing but now it does it all the time but I can still play some games like Fifa but only in 1080p resolution.
It worked perfectly fine when I got it but why won't it let me play in 4K as I have the TV to do it.
They won't say what's wrong with it as want to charge me £180 to fix it which is disgusting.

+That's TTG Bullion for such a quick reply.
+
+I had been thinking it was a motherboard problem but then wondered if it was a problem from a previous update as it was all working fine till last Xmas I think and that's when it begun playing up.
+
+It's just strange as it boots up okay and games install easily enough but unless it's in 1080p it crashes constantly. It doesn't happen as much in 1080p but still will from time to time.
+
+After looking at the price for replacement motherboards I think it's easier to buy a new PS4. I'm thinking of just getting a slim one instead as I've read a lot of people having troubles with the Pro’s and I don't really fancy being burned twice by Sony.
