Can't install 16GB of ram

Texte:

I have a 2010 MacBook A1342 MacBook iI thought i should upgrade with an SSD and RAM. I read on a different thread that the maximum RAM the 2010 macbookMacBook could take is 16GB so i16GB.

So I
ordered 2 sticks of 8GB DDR3 1066MHz PC3-8500 RAM and installed it, but it didn’t work at first. All i got was a 1 beep, which, after searching online, found out meant that no ramRAM was detected. I then saw that the thread said that it could support 16gb16GB of ramRAM with the latest firmware, so i thought iI should update the OS first (it was a very old version of OS X), but

But
even after updating to high sierraHigh Sierra and applying all the extra updates afterwards (which brought my ROM version to 68.0.0.0.0) it still wouldn’t take the ramRAM. I tried using just 1 stick of 8gb, but that didn’t work either. I

I
had 2 2gbtwo 2GB sticks laying around, which the macsystem did take… I’m not sure what to do anymore.
