Will a device boot even if screen is disconnected?

I have a mobile device where i have cut through the cable to the display. Should the phone boot up without display?…. I have adb access authorised so not concerned about screen as long as it should still boot?[br]

Would a disconnected screen also stop the phone fron charging correctly?
