Why are there horizontal lines on my screen?

I have had this laptop for a year now, and this problem only recently started to occur. Whenever I open my laptop and do anything, I would see a bunch of colorful horizontal lines on my screen. I went to device manager and it said my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 has stopped working because of a problem. What exactly is wrong with my laptop?
