Stated “auto on” knob position? If you are trying to make coffee NOT at the preset “auto on” time, turn knob to BREW, then move switch up to “ON”. Light above on switch should light.
(I watch for the “ON" or “AUTO ON” LIGHTS - as a “reminder” when starting coffee. Sometimes I want coffee now, but it's in the “AUTO ON" or other position. The light to the left will light for “auto on”, instead of the “brew” position with light directly above the “on switch” lighting. This can happen when wiping the outside or someone used the auto on function.
If it's in “auto on" and NOT making coffee, try unplugging it for a few minutes. Plug it back in and reset the time and auto on time.
