Hey there!
-I'm sorry to hear that you kindle is not working. Let's see if we can fix that! Try following [guide|61550|this guide|new_window=true] to disconnect and remove the kindle's battery. Now, just for clarity, the kindle won't power down when you hold the power button? Also, is there a loading bar on the screen? If the answer to the first question is yes, then you'll need to be very carefull while inside so you don't short the kindle or yourself out. Once you have the battery disconnected, leave the kindle alone for a little while and let all the power drain. YOu can help it along by pushing the power button. Once you are sure it has fully drained, reconnect the battery and try turning it back on. There is no need to reassemble the device, just don't touch any of the circuitry inside while it is on. Hopefully, the hard reset (as what you just did is called) did the trick and there will be no need for further troublshooting. If that is the case, please accept my answer so that others can see that the answer helped you. If it didn't work, just post a comment here and we'll get it worked out!
