-Just encountered this with a Nikon P530 sitting unused for many months. I gently slid a strip of scotch tape in the gap between the battery and slot as far down as I could before it stuck to the battery and then once it did, used some paper to press the adhesive. This gave a tab I could pull and got it out far enough to grab it with my fingers. Battery was definitely puffy/swollen
