You can put it together, but buy cheap thermal paste and cake it on sot hey don't know you took it apart, apple will fix yours free if it is less then 4 years old, the a1260 has a NVIDIA GPU recall going on

If they refuse you, there are companies who put newer chips on these laptops from 2010 not affected by this issue to fix it
