It had the 3 beep of death. I purchased 2, 8s of ram for a total of 16, however. It would not allow this. So ended up with 10gb. Initially I thought I had a bad top ram slot. But the 2gb took. Still using the original battery in 2018 so decided it was time.

Ma solution

Replacement went smoothly -- except for the enclosed tools. I recommend purchasing the toolkit to avoid stripping the screws.

Mon conseil

The four screwdrivers are really just toys; please either spring for a better set of just do away with them.

Problems: 1) GPS was not identifying my location very well. gave a rather large cone of uncertainty and turn-by-turn directions was not usable. 2) wifi connectivity was suspect. my device had to be very close to a router to connect. 3) bluetooth connectivity was also bad. my device had to be very cl . . .

Mon problème

Regardless of charger or cable, charge rate was only 300 mA. New battery did not help.

Ma solution

Mon conseil

Take your time. Use little force. Don't bend boards or cables more than necessary. B . . .

I was able to scavenge a HD cable from another MacBook Pro (mid 2011) and while not ideal, it worked well enough. Now I had the money and time to double down on the ca . . .
