Difficult

Mon problème

The battery in my MacBook Pro wouldn't charge consistently. You'd plug it in and it would charge for a while and then stop charging. I tried another power adapter but it didn't change. So it seemed the I/O board was the next logical link in the chain.

Ma solution

The repair is pretty straightforward if you are used to taking apart things like this. Instructions were very good, specifically the location and types of screws to be removed.

Everything is working fine now (the lighting on the keyboard is more consistent too.

Mon conseil

I recommend getting a muffin baking pan and putting the screws from each step in a separate compartment. Take your time removing the cables and connectors - they are pretty flimsy. Be sure connectors are perfectly aligned before trying to press them back together. It is very easy to bend pins or crack the socket.
