Mon problème
Basically, my beat down, 500Gb platter disk drive wasn't willing to live much longer (as an OS disk). So, I decided to add a SSD as my OS drive. To make my laptop go supersonic, of course.
Ma solution
Opened the back panel up, followed all the steps, but one catch! The speaker wire mount broke (the one they say will break if you're not careful).
Installed and wrapped up everything. Then began installing Mac OS on the drive. Less than an hour later, it was up and running!
Mon conseil
If you break the speaker wire mount (it'll break on the top) you can still use it. Put the wires back in the mount the way you found them (should be easy to tell) and hold them in place while you reinstall the mount to the logic board. They'll snap into place and hold. Also, keep the mount attached for insulation.
