Slow IMAC - late 2009 - Yosemite 10.10.3

Mon problème

Slow IMAC needed some action!

Replaceing the optical drive with an 250GB SSD (from Crucial) was a natural choice!

Using the new SSD as startup disk.

Ma solution

Beeing very carefull and spending a litle extra time on the echange process - Succsess!

OSX and applications now run on the SSD. User on the old h.disk and Time Machine on my ext. disk.

All IMAC operations much faster!!

Mon conseil

The 4 holes ment for fastening the hard drive enclosure in the existing plastic "fork" did not match complitely! (Aprox. 2 mm out of center.) I ended up increasing the hole diameter in the "fork" and the problem was solved! Please control your stock!
