Dumb mistake. Got foot wrapped in head phone jack cord and broke tip off in jack on Kindle.
Ma solution
I followed the info and tips given on your site. Took about 15 mins. and was back up and running.
Mon conseil
You do have to be very careful opening the case, otherwise you might crack it. A magnifying glass will help to see the little lock downs on the 2 electrical tab connections. If you don't have a really small phillips head, an eyeglass screwdriver will do, to unfasten the headphone jack..
