Kindle fire 8.9 screen replacement

Mon problème

Kid smashed the kindle fire 8.9" lcd and it needed to be replaced.

Ma solution

It was easy. It took about 30 minutes from begin to end. I used a library card to separate the two pieces. Insert in one corner, slide down and around and carefully separate the two pieces.

Mon conseil

Be very careful with the flex cable tabs that hold the cables into place. Also, you will not know if the repair is completely done and working until you've snapped the two pieces back together. The tablet will light up and the screen will turn on so you can see it functioning, but the power buttons, etc. will not work until it is completely back together.
