Difficult

Mon problème

So my son "dropped" my wife's iPad and shattered the screen.

Ma solution

Ordered the tools and the repair kit for the iPad, and also bought the bezel and the WIFI antenna just to be sure. The glass removal was an absolute tedious nightmare. The packing tape trick was fairly useless, and I found many trips to the microwave to be the rule. I did manage to get most of the class off in a large piece, then spent an hour getting all of the remaining glass and tape off. This is where patience is required. I replaced the Wi-Fi antenna and must have over stressed the coax because the Wi-Fi failed to work. ordered new cable and now it works great.

Mon conseil

If you get frustrated easily, plan for taking breaks to calm down lest you really break something. I also stripped the retaining screw for the Wi-Fi antenna cable, so that was an additional delay, luckily Apple left two spare screws rattling around in side the iPad.....

I've heard complaints of the screen being foggy after replacement, make sure you remove the inside surface protective plastic before you install the front panel.

Test everything BEFORE you reattach the front panel, I found the Wi-Fi issue before I set the panel, so it wasn't a big deal
