Splitting the Fusion drive

The spinning HDD side of the Fusion drive developed unrecoverable hard damage. Led to a surprising number of spinning beach balls.

Ma solution

Straight forward. The wheel cut made screen removal quick.

Mon conseil

Vacuum what dust you can during the job. Also, the HDD rubber boot completely fell apart. I just put the ends back on before screwing the HDD back in place.
