The SATA cable I bought from Best Buy was not working with the new Samsung SSD that I got for my MBP. The internal SATA connector had a tiny blemish that was preventing it from working with the SSD, although the Mac HDD worked fine when connected. Once the replacement SATA connector arrived, I followed the guide step-by-step that ifixit provided and now I can enjoy a mid-2012 MBP with a lightning fast SSD! Great experience. Saved me a possible $100+ in repair fees.
