Hard Drive Cable Failure a Known Issue For MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012

The hard drive cable failure is a known issue for the MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012. I have replaced this cable in two Mid 2012 MBPs for friends. This is the second time the cable failed in one of those two computers. However, the failed cable was NOT purchased from iFixIt. Hoping that the iFixIt cable is of better quality. Like that it has a lifetime guarantee.

Easy repair, especially since I've done this before.

Mon conseil

This time I put electrical tape on all of the 90 degree edges and the case top where the cable runs. Hoping this will help prevent any future failures.
