Easy but beware of battery pull-tab adhesive

iPhone 6 Battery Replacement

45 minutes

Moderate

Mon problème

My battery was not working well and phone was slow.

Ma solution

I could probably do it in under a half hour and rate it easy if it weren’t for the pull-tabs. The first one worked, and the second broke halfway through. That took an extra 15 minutes to push the adhesive into a place I could grab it to complete the repair. The replacement battery is perfect and SOOOO much better than the 3-year-old one; the phone works like new! Time will tell for how long it lasts but so far so good.

Mon conseil

Be care with the pull tabs.

If you pry up the battery a bit you can pull out the adhesive strips from the edge of the battery, between the frame and the battery. I tip is to heat the back side on the phone with a heat gun, soft strips do not snaps off that easy.
