Difficult

Mon problème

The connection to the power cord was faulty. The light on the power cord would often times go out unless I put it at exactly the right angle. It also alternated between amber and green when charging. Furthermore, one of the terminals on the laptop power connector showed burn marks.

Ma solution

The repair went relatively well. The tutorial was amazing. It was detailed and clear to follow - helping me avoid pitfalls along the way.

The only casualty in the process is that I pulled apart the wire that connects to the web cam terminal. Since I never use the webcam anymore, I wasn't too heartbroken. I ended up snipping the rest of the wire, and taping it off with electrical tape.

For me, this connection was extremely fragile. It would have helped if I used tweezers to wiggle the connector from the terminal instead of pulling the wire directly.

Mon conseil

1. If you don't have a spudger tool, make sure you pick one up .

2. It helps to have some tweezers handy.

3. If you are going to disconnect the battery, make sure that you pick up one of Apple's proprietary tri-wing screwdrivers. You won't be able to remove the battery without it.
