Mon problème
This phone is my husbands iPhone 7. I don't know what he does to his phone. Currently, it does not have audio for phone calls and can only function for the internet and texting. That is fine as we only have a few more months before being eligible for upgrades. However he dropped it, again, and the screen no longer registered that it was being touched and the home button wouldn't register. I purchased both a new screen and a new home button.
Ma solution
The first attempt, didn't go so well. My husband tried to do it even though I've done this repair on at least 4 different phones. He had it all done but couldn't get the screen to lay flush. Upon trying to re-open the screen to see why it wouldn't lay flush he ripped a ribbon connection destroying the screen. This is such a delicate piece it's so easy to pull apart.
I re-ordered the screen part and iFixit was kind enough to recognize we screwed up the repair and returned the shipping cost!!! Once the screen came, I was able to attach it to the phone. It took me maybe 25 minutes to install the home button and attach the screen, screw everything in and snap it back together. Keep in mind the phone was already torn apart so all I had to do was attach it and go. The phone still doesn't have audio and the home button doesn't work once attached to the phone but we've figured out that its something to do with the phone not the replacement pieces. However, he has texting capabilities and is using the onscreen home button to navigate the phone!

GO SLOW.
This work is very tedious, delicate, and meticulous.
And use a magnet pad and or tray. I place the screws and plates in the same position and order I take them out so it looks like a dissected frog on my magnet pad and I know exactly where to put everything.
