Mon problème
The rechargeable battery in my iPhone 3Gs was swelling to the point of popping the display out of it's frame.
Ma solution
Better than I would have expected! The swelling did cause the logic board to bend a bit in the middle, popping two of the 00 Phillips head screws, but other wise went smoothly.
Mon conseil
Be sure to have the right tool kit handy, follow along with the iFixit instructions, take your time and don't lose any screws!
