The Unexpected

Tim Lindop -

Mon problème

Replacing bulbs in television lights

Ma solution

I bought this kit because I fancy myself as being able to fix computer problems when truth be told the thought of opening a computer and facing its innards frightens me. Every attempt to do just that in the past has met with disaster since what stumps me more than my lack of knowledge are the tiny, tiny screws that an ordinary screwdriver doesn't stand a chance against. So, I bought this as future proof for the time when I will need these srew drivers as the "right tool for the right job". That time came sooner than expected.

I am a video shooter. I operate cameras on the run and lug an expensive set of lights around whose bulbs are measured in hundreds of hours rather than thousands. I once held up a shoot for over an hour because I couldn't easily access a light housing to replace a burnt out bulb. When a bulb blew yesterday, I went to my car and got my driver kit, not really expecting much. Choosing the smallest of the drivers, I had the unit open and the bulb replaced in minutes rather than hours. Blew me away!

Mon conseil

The "right tool for the right job" is a matter of investing in tools you can't immediately see how you would use them, but the investment is worth it when that odd chance comes where only one tool will do it. The driver kit comes with 54 separate "right tools" that can't be replaced using standard tools.
