The battery is the main lifeforce of the car; without it, don't expect it to move unless you're rolling it down a hill in neutral. Without it, the engine, key buttons, and even electric brakes are completely useless.

Caution: Wear gloves and a mask as a basic safety precaution to avoid inhaling or touching toxins which may be harmful to your lungs.
Car batteries have a voltage comparable to small Duracell batteries; don't work in fear of being shocked.
Open the hood and locate your battery.

Remove the screws from the brace securing the battery.

Disconnect the connector on the right with no coloring or cap.
Remove the vertically facing screw to disconnect the battery.
Loosen the clamp on the side directly connected to the battery.
Move both away from the battery once they've been disconnected/loosened enough to disconnect.

After removing the red cap on the second connector follow the same process you did with the right.
Remove the vertical screw first.
Loosen the horizontal screw on the side in order to fully free the battery.

Car batteries are quite heavy so get ready to give a good lift.
Ensure you have a good grip on both ends and pull up both sides at once; you don't want the battery to tilt to one side
