Lay Bose Solo 5 on its top side with the speakers facing away from you.

Remove the two screws located at the outer edge of the backside with a Phillips head screwdriver.

Lay the speaker on its backside with the speakers facing up. Wedge the plastic opening tool into the crack where the protective wire screen meets the housing. Pry apart until you create enough room for your fingers.
