Introduction
The purpose of this guide is to help grill owners patch rusty and corroded drip pans on Charbroil grills with permanently riveted drip pans. Rather than discarding the grill and spending hundreds of dollars for a new one, this procedure will allow the grill owner to extend the usable life of his or her grill.
Ce dont vous avez besoin
-
-
Make an initial assessment of the extent of the corrosion to the drip pan.
-
Use a wire brush to remove the most corroded metal.
-
Use the tin snips to remove the least corroded metal.
-
-
-
-
Ensure that the sheet metal screws have secured the replacement sheet metal patch.
-
Cut the 3M High Temperature Flue tape to the proper length (this will depend upon the size of the patch).
-
Place the tape over the sheet metal screws and cover the edges to seal the edges of the patch.
-
-
-
Drill four pilot holes through the grease outlet from the top side of the grill using either a cordless or power drill. These holes will be used later to provide space to use the tin snips.
-
Cut the remaining metal between the pilot holes with the tin snips to form a single grease outlet.
-
Upon completion, this repair will extend the usable life of your grill and reduce waste deposited into landfills.
