thank you for this informative display.
I have broken many expensive glass carafs for my cuisinart coffeemaker and finally purchased a cuisinart thermal caraf.
I do not need the hotplate to heat, so what do I do to stop the heating process?
I imagine I would need to remove one of the attached lines to the heating element, yes?
Thanks.

Hi, Thanks for sharing this information. I have an older Krups coffee maker that still works great but the hot plate is warn. I cannot seem to find a replacement plate for any Krups coffee maker models. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Yes, where do you buy the part??
I replaced hot plate with a stainless steel disk bought on Amazon 1/8” thick and 4 1/2” diameter $5 plus shipping. Works a charm.
Thanks--great tip! Did you use thermal paste? What is it--the heat sink compound used in PCs, or something else? Thanks!
What is thermal paste? Is it the same substance used in PCs as a heat sink?
