Démontage du fond de la Time Capsule modèle A1302

Introduction

Ce guide vous montre comment ouvrir votre Time Capsule pour la première fois. Prenez votre temps avec la première étape, surtout si votre Time Capsule a un certain âge; L'adhésif peut devenir assez dur.

Ce dont vous avez besoin

    • Placez un morceau de tissu ou un matériau doux similaire sur une surface propre et plane. Placez l'appareil à l'envers sur le dessus du tissu.

    • Ouvrez le Time Capsule en exposant les vis qui maintiennent l'appareil ensemble. Les vis sont dissimulées par la base en caoutchouc, qui est la surface inférieure de l'appareil.

    • Utilisez un pistolet à chaleur ou un sèche-cheveux pour chauffer la base en caoutchouc, qui adoucit l'adhésif qui le maintient.

    • En commençant par un coin, soulevez soigneusement la base en caoutchouc pour éviter les déchirements. Vous pouvez utiliser un médiator ou une petite règle en plastique pour aider à séparer le caoutchouc du métal.

    • Prenez votre temps pour éviter de déchirer l'adhésif. Assurez-vous de ne pas surchauffer l'appareil.

    • Si vous détachez une partie de l'adhésif, ne vous inquiétez pas. L'adhésif existant est plus que suffisant pour permettre à la base en caoutchouc de se remettre sur l'appareil lors du remontage.

    • Lors du remontage, vous pouvez appliquer de la chaleur sur la base en caoutchouc. Cela permettra à l'adhésif de s'écouler et de former une meilleure liaison avec le boîtier métallique de l'appareil.

    Slow down particularly near the bottom label where it is stiffer. Either that or I needed to give it more heat. Going too fast can risk tearing the rubber base if the adhesive is strong.

    If you are wondering if the Time Capsule will still work as a router if you remove the HDD and leave it out, the answer (according to another webpage I read) is YES, it will still work. Apparently, you get a warning with the AIrPort Utility about a missing HDD, but it still works. I wanted to keep and reuse the 1TB Hitachi HDD for offsite data backup.

    Use an iron instead of a heating gun or hairdryer!

    Gradually raise the temperature while checking for separation, while moving over the rubber. I first cleaned the rubber with some soap, to avoid scorching dust or grease. The setting for synthetic fabrics seemed to do the job with my Tefal iron; probably a little over 100 degrees centigrade. No steam off course!

    Worked like a charm without leaving almost any residual glue.

    Sticking the rubber sole back after the repair was also successful.

    Is there a possibility to change an already changed 2TB SATA to a bigger one? Mine is full. because I added another MacBook Pro, but I’d rather not buy a newer TimeCapsule

    I have a heater plate from my beer fermenting days. Sat the router on this rubber side down for an hour or so and the rubber came off easily and cleanly. A pet bed heater may work just as nicely.

    • Une fois que la base en caoutchouc est séparée de l'appareil, retirez les 8 vis Phillips PH00 qui fixent le fond en métal du boîtier sur le dessus en plastique du boîtier.

    • Utilisez le tournevis Philips # 00.

    • Certaines révisions du Time Capsule ont 10 vis. La révision A1254 comporte deux vis dans les coins supérieur droit et inférieur gauche, comme indiqué dans la deuxième image. Dans cette situation, assurez-vous d'enlever toutes les 10 vis.

    Instead of removing the rubber floor, I cut windows in the rubber base at the designated places and dug them out. To do this, I had rectified the photo and printed it out as a square with an edge length of 19.8 cm and used it as a stencil.

    • Placez le côté arrière de l'appareil (le côté avec les connecteurs Ethernet) afin qu'il soit face à vous.

    • Soulevez le côté gauche de la plaque métallique et tournez-la lentement sur le bord droit de l'appareil.

    • Pour éviter tout dommage, ne pas soulever la plaque métallique directement ou utiliser la force. Comme le montre la deuxième image, le ventilateur est attaché à la plaque métallique et connecté à la carte logique à côté du connecteur d'alimentation.

    • Le connecteur de puissance est TRES fragile, il est conseillé de ne pas essayer de débrancher le connecteur d'alimentation du ventilateur. Soyez très prudent . C'est extrêmement fragile. Si vous devez absolument débrancher le ventilateur de la carte logique, utilisez très soigneusement un spudger ou une pincette pour le faire.

    I'd destroyed the connection between my fan and logic board by trying to remove the fan. This is a bigger problem than a broken hard drive. DO NOT TRY TO DISCONNECT THE FAN. Instead be careful with the base (making sure not to stretch the fan wire) as your proceed to step four.

    I wish I had read the comments too!! DO NOT try to disconnect the fan!!!! The connector broke off with out a lot of force. Now I have a worthless piece of metal and plastic!!!!

    This is not my guide, but in order to try to prevent future damage, I've edited the guide to warn against disconnecting the fan from the logic board. Hopefully the update will be approved soon :0\

    I used a block to lean the cover on so it didn't fall completely flat on the surface. The wire connecting the fan is too short for that.

    It seems to me that the fan on the lid is not installed correctly. The air intake is blocked by a lid. The exhaust rests against the hard drive. It is more logical to turn the fan over, then the air intake will open, and the air flow will be along the components of the motherboard

My thought exactly. I left it off and put small felt pads on each corner for noise reduction AND for better airflow.

cann anyone tell me what kind of screws the timcapsul has on the bottom, I kind of lost them and need to get replacement screws but io can not find anything under PH0 Screws online…

My TC was made lot of noise and warming. (I thonk was the HDD problem) When I opened and tried disconnect the fan it broken the board plug… Today I use without fan, the noise is over (was the fan) and it continue warming same way…
