Introduction

The flash device has a few delicate connections and should be handled with care.

  1. Remove the 2 screws (2.41 mm long) on the side of the camera next to the LCD screen. Remove the 2 screws (4.08 mm) on the other side.  One is located under the rubber USB flap. Remove the last screw (2.59 mm) located on the bottom of the camera.
    • Remove the 2 screws (2.41 mm long) on the side of the camera next to the LCD screen.

    • Remove the 2 screws (4.08 mm) on the other side. One is located under the rubber USB flap.

    • Remove the last screw (2.59 mm) located on the bottom of the camera.

    • Slowly pull the back cover of the camera.

  2. Remove the screw (2.59 mm) from the bottom of the camera. Remove the screw (4.08 mm) from the menu button side of the camera. Note: the 2 screws on the other side of the camera were already removed when taking off the back cover.
    • Remove the screw (2.59 mm) from the bottom of the camera.

    • Remove the screw (4.08 mm) from the menu button side of the camera.

    • Note: the 2 screws on the other side of the camera were already removed when taking off the back cover.

  4. Unplug the green and white plugs connecting the top panel to the top of the logic board. Dislodge the tab above the lens.
    • Unplug the green and white plugs connecting the top panel to the top of the logic board.

    • Dislodge the tab above the lens.

    • Dislodge the back tab.

  5. Remove the screws (2.88 mm) at the top right corner and bottom left corner of the LCD screen. Disconnect the ribbons connecting the screen to the camera. Lift off the screen.
    • Remove the screws (2.88 mm) at the top right corner and bottom left corner of the LCD screen.

    • Disconnect the ribbons connecting the screen to the camera.

    • Lift off the screen.

  6. Use caution when removing the flash. The capacitor may still have a charge. Remove 2 screws (1.75 mm) from the back with a screwdriver, disconnecting the metal guard. Pull the ribbon on the top of the camera to unplug it.

    • Remove 2 screws (1.75 mm) from the back with a screwdriver, disconnecting the metal guard.

    • Pull the ribbon on the top of the camera to unplug it.

    • Disconnect the white plug connected by red and black wires.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
